Taking the time to listen and advise alternative options, and therapies for the patients complete recovery.

Holistic Health verses Big Industry

Natural health remedies is a huge deal now a days. And everyone is jumping on the band wagon to get their cut of the money to be made.
The one problem is there are so many claims out there and it can get overwhelming and very disheartening.
     Claims of dangerous herbs:
Yes there are herbs out there that you have to be careful with, but do they tell you how much is to much? No, because they are out to scare you into not taking responsibility for your own health. There are a some herbs that need to be taken with caution. Please research each herb you are considering, Pro's and Con's. Pharmaceutical companies don’t want you to know or find a less expensive, more natural remedy, that will improve your health, because it takes money out of their pockets. They don't want you to know that the natural remedies work with your whole system, synergistically, the way our system's were meant to heal.
Claims this will work for anyone:
Yes, there are a lot of people that might find a product works for them, there are some that will find that it helps a little, and there are some that find it was a waste of money. And these supplements are not cheap. There is not one remedy combination that works on everyone the same. The combination of ingredients might work, but the amount of each ingredient needs to be adjusted for each person because each person is different. Each person is not experiencing the exact same symptoms. Each person has different set of circumstances or trauma’s that they have experienced and not everyone’s  body reacts to trauma or stress the same.
Holistic Health Practitioners are trained in nutrition, herbs, and are knowledgeable of the different forms of alternative health practices. They are trained to treat the whole person, they learn how life has taken it toll on the body, and how it has reacted to that stress. They know which herbs are harmful and in what quantities. They know that each person has a different health situation and chemical make up that requires a custom analysis. There is no one combination that works for everyone. Some come close, but we have the training to tweak and improve for each person.
Advertisers learn key words and phrases to hook the consumer. They really do not know the full story about a product, remedy, herb, or supplement. I worked in the advertising industry for 10 years, and saw how information was stretched, left out, or manipulated to hook the consumer and make them think they are getting something special. They know the average person does not read labels. If there is something you don’t know, they know the average person will not look it up.
I spent many years trying to be a good salesman, but I never mastered the trade because I could never “Go in for the kill”.(A phrase that is used in the industry) I could not talk someone into spending their hard earned money on something they really didn’t want or could not afford.  That kind of hard sell is wrong, and I could not live with myself if I were to do that to someone else.
You need to read labels and see what they have in them. If you see something that you don’t know, write it down and look it up. Find out what is really in that product, you might be surprised.
Just because a company is big or has a great looking ad,  this does not mean that they have a good product. There are a lot of big name companies out there that are not putting everything they claim in their product, or, it is not in the quantities they claim. A lot of companies are putting chemicals in their products that are slowly hurting you. Good Morning America had a piece on this very subject. They suggested the same thing I have been saying: Read Labels, Look things up, Learn what you are taking, Take charge of your life, and if you don’t have time to do that, find someone who does know, to help you.
Just because a Holistic Health Practitioner is expensive, does not mean they are better. Find one that will listen to you, take the time to explain, and if they are not sure about a pathology, they will tell you they are not sure and get back to you in a timely manner when they have researched the subject and pass on the information to you.
A good practitioner will work with you and encourage you along your path to better health. They will suggest not just nutrition, but also herbs, exercise, and any other forms of therapy that will help you in your recovery and healing process.
